Personalized and Engaging Cooking Experiences

Classes you’ll be able to teach
For Kids
Cooking is more than just a life skill; it’s a pathway to creativity, discovery, and valuable life lessons. Through cooking classes, children can not only learn to prepare and enjoy different types of foods but also:
- Develop essential math and chemistry knowledge.
- Learn to read and follow directions effectively.
- Hone organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Cultivate common sense in practical scenarios.
- Develop confidence.
Additionally, cooking can encourage better eating habits and foster a sense of contribution at home. It’s a rewarding activity that’s exciting, challenging, and ultimately delicious. Peak their interest with fun cooking projects like Sushi Making, Homemade Pasta and Homemade Mozzarella Cheese!
“When I first started working with Polly, I’ll admit I thought I already knew plenty about teaching cooking. I had strong opinions, especially when it came to teaching children, and I worried she was going over their heads or expecting too much from them. But then I watched what her students could actually do. These kids were cooking real, impressive food with confidence, and it changed the way I looked at teaching. Polly showed me that children don’t need to be talked down to—they need to be guided clearly, respected, and given real skills they can use at home. By following her lead, I learned how powerful it can be to teach children real cooking they can proudly make for their families.”

- Offer a unique, interactive way to promote health and wellness.
“As a licensed dietician, I had a deep understanding of food, nutrition, and what makes a meal healthy. What I needed help with was learning how to share that knowledge in a way that people could truly understand and use in their own kitchens. Polly helped me organize my information, simplify my message, and communicate clearly in front of students so they could turn good nutrition into real home-cooked meals. She also taught me the importance of knife skills, preparation, and proper organization, which made the cooking process easier and more approachable for everyone. Working with Polly helped me become a stronger teacher and showed me how healthy food could also be practical, delicious, and achievable at home.”

A Passion for Cooking
Meet Polly Talbott

Hello, I’m Polly
I started out baking with my grandmother as a little girl, and I have spent my life in kitchens: managing restaurants, styling food for photography, and, for 22 years, owning and directing a cooking school right here in Lynbrook, New York. Today I love helping cooks, chefs and dietitians turn what they already know into classes of their own, with patience, encouragement and a lot of laughter. When I’m not cooking, you’ll find me ballroom dancing, biking, traveling, or in the kitchen with my grandchildren, Leo and Emilia. I’d love to hear what you hope to teach.
